Philip Island Classic 2017
ADDED BY:Webmaster, Tuesday March 21 2017 at 8:50:23 PM
Mix some of the most classic cars from Australia and overseas with the Phillip Island grand prix circuit and then add magnificent weather and you have the magic formula for two days of fantastic motorsport.

But as with most of these VHRR organized events, the attractions aren’t always just confined to the track, as the spectator areas were full of classic (not to mention beautiful) road cars.

Which ever is your favorite marque of car, it was there from Cobras, Jaguars, Porsches, Fords & Holdens of every make and model, etc, etc and all of them beautifully presented.

Closer to home, the CCCV had about 10 or so members and their cars turn up to fly the flag (literally) and club member LJ had a display of his Superformance vehicles in the exhibition area, which was very popular.

One of the more interesting race cars there was a very rare GT40 ‘spyder’, one of only four that Ford ever produced. Rumor has it that it’s worth about $8 million; although you wouldn’t know it by the way the owner ‘chucked’ it about.

Coburg Drive-In

The weather was warm, the sky clear; a perfect night for a movie at the drive-in in your Cobra.

Coburg drive-in hosted a number of club members lined up in their Cobras ready for darkness to fall and the movie to start. Something a bit different mid week ......a driving drive-in opportunity Cobra experience!

Thanks to Guy for organising the event.
