The last few days of summer have warmed up in Melbourne which proved ideal for the first club shed run of the year.
Lots of member interest saw a large gathering at LJ Performance Sports Cars in Rowville where there was literally a factory full of Superformance Cobras to savour! The quality and finish of these cars is immediately evident and LJ provided a helpful explanation of the key features of the product which he imports to Australia. The forecourt of his factory and the end of the street were parked out by our clubs cars. Those members able to separate from checking out the Superformance Cobras took advantage of the mid morning sunshine and headed south to Mordialloc where we were warmly welcomed by Anthony Hales who shared his cobra build with us. A short drive north delivered us to the factory of Kenmer Engineering where Marty Govett displayed a range of his current Cobra projects and kindly hosted a great BBQ lunch arranged by the Club. Hamburgers, sausages and a few beers complimented the warm day and conversation amongst club members. A fun day driving and looking at Cobras. Thank you to our generous hosts. Andrew |

Bellarine Peninsula Cruise 2017
Mid February summer weather, a careful check to ensure no major events / road closures would get in our way and nearly 30 Cobras and a GT 40 ready to cruise the Bellarine Peninsula together...what could go wrong ?? ..overnight and morning rain and the promise of passing showers! But these were no deterrent to CCCV members and navigators. 25 cars headed from the Westgate freeway service centre along the Geelong Road to Geelong where we stopped for morning coffee on Cunningham Pier at Wah Wah Gee. We picked up Bernie outside the Ford factory in Geelong. Showers persisted on the Bellarine Highway as we went through Drysdale and into Port Arlington. The coast road was a pleasant distraction from intermittent rain and we enjoyed sea views around Indented Head and St.Leonards and after turning inland then flanked Swan Bay and into Queenscliff where we were booked for lunch at the Queenscliff Brewhouse (The president of the Mornington Peninsula chapter of CCCV made a welcome surprise visit via the Sorrento Queenscliff ferry). Everyone enjoyed the excellent service and food and beverage offer at the Brewhouse and the opportunity to meet and chat with club members. Cars parked out the front of the hotel attracted the usual interest and compliments of passers by. People made there own way back to Melbourne in the (mostly) fine conditions. A great day out. Thanks to Dale for the itinerary and organising our Geelong and Queeenscliff venues. Andrew |
