Club Shed Run in August

A planned shed run for late August proved to be popular amongst members with the "rsvp button" on the CCCV web site working overtime when the BoM forecast for Saturday 27th August was for fine weather.

The promise of coffee and donuts at 9.00am at Python Vehicles in South Melbourne witnessed about 16 Cobras converge for a look at Pythons new Sidchrome project Cobra together with lots of interesting cobra projects, choppers and memorabilia in a very cool workshop. A short presentation by an energetic and passionate George Vidovic and a video of the Sidchrome Cobra build completed the visit.

The next stop after a 35 km freeway trip was Kenmer Engineering in Noble Park to check out what is happening in Marty's workshop ..... As usual, quite a lot. We saw Cobras in various stages of fabrication and build progress and a real time rebuild of an RMC by possibly the oldest vehicle construction apprentice ( a CCCV Former president ).

The prospect of a BBQ lunch and a couple of beers saw attending Cobra numbers swell to 26 with lots of discussion, and review of the latest member Cobra upgrades. It was great to see a number of new members attend as well as familiar faces.

A fantastic way to spend a Saturday.

Thanks to George and his team at Python Vehicles for their hospitality ( check out the youtube clip on the Sidchrome project Cobra ) and thanks to Marty Govett for hosting lunch and providing a great opportunity for members to look at what is happening in his workshop.

Thanks also to Rohan and Mic for organising the run .

Andrew
