Sunday 23rd November 2014 saw a cloudy but fine and mild morning (which was a relief to many, as overnight rain had been predicted ) which then developed into a sunny day of about 23 degrees.

Perfect conditions for a Cobra cruise on the beautiful southern Mornington Peninsula .

Twenty shiny Cobras , a Thunderbird , a Pontiac , a Mustang and a 944 Porsche assembled in Mornington and after a “detailed” briefing from Craig Evans we set off to a local aged care facility to bring a bit of “Cobra noise “ to a number of the residents and then on to the Esplanade from Mornington along a turquoise water lined coast through Mount Martha , Safety Beach , Dromana , Rosebud and then inland through the “ corkscrew “ at Cape Schanck to Flinders for coffee at the bakery. Double stacked parked cobras provided some interest to the locals in this normally quiet coastal village . A further briefing from Craig and stunning scenery all the way including coastal landscape and market gardens , rolling coastal hills and native forest continued as we travelled into Flinders harbour and back to the bay down Arthurs Seat through a series of hairpin bends then on to Sorrento for lunch at the historic Hotel Sorrento . Sunshine all the way !!

Thankyou to Miles, Rob and Anne at Hotel Sorrento for arranging special reserved Cobra only parking out the front and for a fantastic lunch served with a few ice cold drinks while we looked out at the stunning blue Port Phillip Bay and the passing boats .

Another great and very enjoyable Mornington Peninsula cruise . Thank you to Craig for organising the event and itinerary . Thanks also to Shane and Craig’s dad for keeping the Cobra convoy together .

The CCCV had a good showing with around 10 cars making the trip, and they picked up a few trophies between them!
